David and Trisha
The icy windows condensed as logs burnt and crackled in the fireplace; the flickering flames complementing the Christmas tree lights that twinkled in the corner. The living room floor was covered in wrapping paper, that had been torn open just moments ago. As Trisha began to tidy up her parents living room, now the chaos of present giving was over, one chilly Christmas morning, David pulled her aside and insisted she took a seat on the sofa. With glee and anticipation on her boyfriends and her parents faces, Trisha grew anxious until suddenly David dropped down to his knee and asked for her hand in marriage. The rest of the day was filled with joyous smiles and tears as Trisha’s disbelief shook her.
Trish would never have guessed that after a chance meeting in a club, late one night, that eventually David’s persistence would prevail and one first date would lead to the rest of their lives together. The loved-up couple tied the knot at their magical ceremony at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre in The Oak Room before all 100 of the evening guests filled the beautifully decorated Tipis at Inkersall Grange Farm. This laid-back wedding focused on all the guests enjoying a fun filled day, celebrating the love between Trisha and David.
The bride took everyone’s breath away in her stunning Eliza Jane Howell wedding gown. The flowing A-Line dress created a flowing and naturally beautiful style to Trisha’s wedding attire, complemented flawlessly by the full-length embellishment and loose cap shelves that worked effortlessly with her loosely curled, half-up hair do. The floral arrangements were sublime. A combination of pink, peach, garden green and lavender to coordinate with the gorgeous bridesmaids who followed Trish down the aisle, dressed in heavenly lavender gowns. David’s paisley coloured bow tie and pocket square topped of the colourful and avant-garde wedding outfits. The couple looked magnificent as they cruised off in their vintage wedding car after a magical day of celebrations before jetting off to honeymoon in Santorini, Greece.
Did you wear a veil, if so, what style?
I was reluctant to wear a veil but my mum bought it anyway, she kept saying, ‘see how you feel on the day’. It turns out, on the day it just finished off the look perfectly! It was a fingertip length veil by Rainbow Club. I’m so pleased my mum prepared!!
How did you choose the style of your hair?
A lot of hair trials! I would definitely recommend you must be clear and precise about what style you are after. I tried up, down and half do’s until deciding what suited me best.
Were you nervous the night before your wedding, if so, how did you overcome the nerves?
I surprisingly wasn’t too nervous. I had spent the entire day before at the tipis decorating them all day long and it was pouring with rain so naturally we were all exhausted. It didn’t feel like the wedding was actually ever happening and I surprisingly I managed to sleep really well! I was more nervous in the morning but seeing my best friends looking stunning as bridesmaids, my family looked so happy and of course a glass Bucks Fizz helped.
What was your favourite moment of your wedding?
My favourite part of the wedding was the ceremony! This was the part I was most nervous for, but it really was amazing, and so fun walking out together as husband and wife.
What is the best piece of advice you could offer another bride?
If you find yourself getting stressed during planning, I found it helpful to write down a list of what’s left to do, and tick as you go. It seems much simpler written down on a piece of paper and makes it feel so much more manageable. Also, remind yourself of why you are doing this, it’s not worth all the stress, just enjoy a magical day celebrating your love.
